 The wines are

1 Courte Tempête Sauvignon Blanc, Haute Vallée de l’Aude 2021 France 12.5% abv

100% Sauvignon Blanc, from the south West Languedoc near Limoux. The cool climate due to high altitude create ideal conditions for crafting a fresh & aromatic Sauvignon.

2 Ordinal Piquepoul, Roussanne AOP Languedoc 2021 France 13.0%

Grape Blanc 65%, Roussanne 35%

A wine from the heart of the Languedoc, just next to Pezenas. Although Piquepoul is a lovely light wine, it was thought that blending it with another grape could make an interesting wine. Something a little unusual. The result was a “fifty/fifty” blend of Picpoul and Rousanne. The lightness and freshness of the Piquepoul combined wonderfully with the complexity of The Roussanne.

3 La Báscula ‘Catalán Eagle’ White Garnacha Blanca Viognier, Catalunya Spain Organic] 2020 13% abv

Garnacha Blanca 70%, Viognier 20%, Roussanne 10% This is one of my favourite wines and perfect for summer. Aromatic and peachy on the nose with flavours of ripe citrus, more white stone fruit and warm spice balanced by a thread of refreshing minerality and richly textured finish.

4 Silver Myn Argentum, Stellenbosch 2020 . S.Africa14.5% abv

Grapes Merlot 50%, Cabernet Sauvignon 30%, Cabernet Franc 11% and Petit Verdot. Deliciously black Bordelaise blend from Zorgvliet`s estate vineyards in eastern Stellenbosch. Fantastic value! Perfect BBQ wine.

5 Koudiat by Lavau Côtes du Rhône Rouge 2020 France 14.5% abv

grapes Grenache 80%, Syrah 20% Patriarch of the Lavau family, René Lavau transformed a small estate in Tunisia into the country’s biggest wine producer in the early 20th Century, and this wine is named in honour of those times and those wines, with “Koudiat”meaning hill in Arabic. Bright and juicy red..

6 La Reine de l’Arenite, Fleurie La Madone 2021 France 13.5% abv

Gamay 100% Very pretty indeed, a heady perfume of freshly picked irises and peonies drifts above the crushed berry fruit nose with cherries and strawberries dominating.During the summer, chill lightly and serve with roasted or barbecued chicken or pork.

7 Amauta Absoluto Malbec 2021 Argentina14% abv

Malbec 100% Attractive and intense ruby red colour with a perfumed nose of violet and fresh red berry fruits – strawberry, raspberry and cherry. Winemaker Francisco ‘Paco’ Puga was named Argentina`s winemaker of the year.

8 Cave de Tain Crozes-Hermitage ‘Les Hauts du Fief’ 2017 France 14% abv

100% Syrah. `Puissance avec elegance’. We are pushing the boat out with this wine, but it is so good from a great vintage. Powerful yet elegant; the lovely dark ripe bramble fruit is balanced by sleek oak and supple tannins. Definitely a step up from standard Crozes.
